DISTANCE COURSES
Offered in Virginia and at Library of Congress
All students must expect to earn credits on the campus of The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, because not all courses can be available at an off-site location. In fall, spring and summer sessions, SLIS offers 2-4 courses at each off-campus site. Any credit earned for coursework by CUA in Virginia can be transferred to CUA's principal location outside Virginia as part of the degree offered by CUA. Please consult our course schedules for more information on distance course offerings each semester.
Virginia
The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia has certified CUA, School of Library and Information Science to operate in Virginia. Courses leading to the M.S. in L.S. degree are offered in the following locations: George Mason University, Fairfax; and Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond; Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond; Fairfax County Government Center, Fairfax; George Washington University Virginia, Ashburn; and in Loudoun County. The degree has been approved by the governing board of CUA.
Library of Congress
The school also currently offers courses at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. These courses are open to non-employees of the Library of Congress on a space available basis.
