Welcome to the SLIS Accreditation site! 

The School of Library and Information Science is preparing for re-accreditation by the American Library Association in 2009. This is a major undertaking, and requires systematic preparation and broad communication. We have developed this site to share news and information with our students, alumni, and other supporters.  We want your feedback too! If you have comments, suggestions, or responses to the information you see here, please contact us.

Program Updates

(04/26/2008)  SLIS hosted a full faculty meeting.  Guest Speaker Dr. Kathryn Doherty, Assistant Vice President for Assessment and Institutional Research, Towson University, spoke on Institutional Assessment and SLIS.

(04/25/2008)  The Professional Competencies for Graduates of the Master's in Library Science Degree Program, as adopted by Faculty are now available.

(03/28/2008)  The Finalized Plan for the Program Presentation is now available.

(02/26/2008)  The Plan for the Program Presentation - Draft I is available for feedback.  Please submit your comments by March 7, 2008 for optimal application.

(01/25/2008) SLIS Program Objectives have been revised.

(11/10/2007)  SLIS hosted a full faculty meeting.  The guest speaker for the event was Ms. Karen O'Brien, Director, Office of Accreditation at the American Library Association.  She spoke about SLIS and the accreditation process.
