HOW TO REGISTER

Syllabus DOWNLOAD THE GUIDE TO USING CARDINAL STATION

 CONNECT TO CARDINAL STATION

Cardinal Station is the online system for registering for classes.  If you are new to the school, the following notes may help you better understand the system.

Library Science classes are divided into two groups:

"LSC" courses are those taught on Catholic University's campus.
"CLSC" courses are those taught at distance locations.

You can determine where a CLSC course is offered by looking at the section number:

 Section

 Location

 01, 02  Fairfax
 04  Richmond
 05  Library of Congress
 06  Loudoun County

Academic Term Codes
Although it may appear that the 4-digit codes for academic semesters are random, the code actually reflects the starting date of each semester:

The last digit is the month in which each semester begins.  Thus spring semesters will always end in a 1 for January, summer semesters will end in a 5 for May, and fall semesters will end in an 8 for August.

The second and third digits represent the year.

The first digit reflects the century: 0 = 20th century, 1 = 21st century.

For example, the summer 2004 semester is 1045: 1=21st century, 04=the year, 5=August
