Music Therapy
The healing powers of music are attested from ancient times and in numerous cultures, although the scientific understanding of such powers remains limited. Nevertheless, music has been found to be useful in working with patients with a variety of disorders, including autism, cerebral palsy, brain damage, and mental retardation. Therapy, which may include singing, playing musical instruments, dancing, and clapping can help establish communication and enhance motor control and learning ability.
