(8/17/10) CUA Chapter of Special Libraries Association, meeting open to all students, 5:30pm, to kick off the school year in Marist Hall, Room 132, Information Commons.

(7/3/10) Health Information Science degree, announced, beginning in Fall 2010.  Catholic University of America will offer a Master of Science in Information Science with a concentration in Health Information Science (MSIT-HIT) to prepare working adults for leadership in this growing field. The degree is being offered by the School of Library and Information Science, as a result of a partnership with the Metropolitan School of Professional Studies and the School of Nursing.

(6/29/10) SLIS hosts ALA's annual conference session "Connecting with the Feds: Social Media, Collaboration, and Transparency."  The webcast and the powerpoint presentations are available.

(6/20/10) SLIS Professor Blane Dessy, in faculty news, has been named executive director of the Federal Library and Information Center Committee (FLICC) and the Federal Library and Information Network (FEDLINK) at the Library of Congress Executive Director. 

(5/20/2010) Dr. Bill Kules, in faculty news, has been promoted to Senior Member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

(4/20/10) 20th Annual Stone Lecture's guest speaker is Clifford Lynch, Executive Director, Coalition for Networked Information. Scholarship, Cultural Memory and Libraries in the 21st Century. Presentation video.
