The School of Library and Information Science now has a Student Information Listserv. All SLIS students are required to subscribe to the Listserv. All future issues of the Student Newsletter, which includes class schedules for the following semester and critical registration information, will be distributed to continuing students via the Listserv, as will important announcements such as schedule changes, class cancellations, lectures, and other events.

To subscribe to the listserv, send an e-mail message to listserv@lists.cua.edu containing the single-line message in the body:

SUBSCRIBE LIBSCI-L YOUR NAME

Please be sure to remember to type in your first and last name on the same line as "SUBSCRIBE LIBSCI-L." You will receive an automated response asking you to confirm your intent to subscribe. In the body, you must reply with the message: OK.

You will receive a response that you have been added to the list. You are encouraged to check your e-mail often after subscribing to the list. We do not expect there to be much traffic on the list. However, notifications, such as last minute class session changes or cancellations due to instructor illness, will be sent this way. School staff will no longer call students to let them know if an instructor has cancelled a class session.

You may leave the list at any time by sending a "SIGNOFF LIBSCI-L" command in the body to LISTSERV@LISTS.CUA.EDU.
