Library Science Computer Labs

In addition to the Information Commons, there are three computer labs available exclusively for Library Science faculty and students in Marist Hall, on CUA's campus.

The 131 SLIS LAB has 16 computers available to SLIS students when classes are not listed on the calendar.

The Multimedia Lab in room 131A Marist, the lab supports special multimedia applications and hardware needs with a Gateway Performance 500 computer and an IMac, each with animated web site and image creation applications.  You may sign up for a two-hour block of time by filing out the SLIS Media Sign Up Sheet

The 237 Auxiliary Lab, located on the second floor of Marist Hall offers students a quite space to work between classes.

Do you need specific software or hardware?  Find out which workstation supports your needs by viewing the SLIS Technology Inventory.

BlackBoardand Sakai
Many of the classes at the library school take advantage of web-based systems to compliment the classroom experience. The school also offers a limited number of online classes that also take advantage of these systems.

Blackboard and Sakai logins are created by your professor, and typically are different than your University computing login and your Cardinal Station login. If you have multiple courses in Blackboard, WebCT, or Sakai, you may request that all your courses be consolidated under one username for each system.  Please contact your professor for details.

Saiid Ganjalizadeh, 202-319-6411, in the Academic Services department is available to help faculty set up online courses utilizing these web-based systems.

Cardinal Station
Cardinal Station serves several purposes here at CUA.  The most important purpose for students is class registration and account information.  Cardinal Station will give secure online access to information from on and off campus:
